Lost in Emotion

I’m disappointed by emotional barfing that’s not accompanied by much on screen spewage. This one was hard to catch. But I wouldn’t expect anything less from Lost because they always leave you hanging. I did get some heaving and retching obscured by jungle brush after one fake Sawyer killed another fake Sawyer. Murder seems to rank very high on the list of vomit inducers, better than ipecac.

Growing up, we had a family friend named Tom Sawyer who had a son named Tom Sawyer, a.k.a Tommy Jr., but I don’t think either of them ran cons or ended up on a mysterious island (though the Sawyer family did get relocated to Indonesia for a year or so and some might consider that islandy and mysterious. I was just thinking about these Sawyers recently because now it seems strange that this white trashy Gresham family would take to S.E. Asia. Tom Sawyer Sr. worked for Firestone and my dad worked for Goodyear so they had a bond over tires. There’s no way in a million years that my parents would’ve moved to Indonesia when I was in grade school or at any point. Maybe I would be totally different now if I’d spent 4th and 5th grade in rubber tree jungles instead of malls).
